The school's sports programme adds to the great sense of the atmosphere of our school, of its vitality, its values and its achievements. It forms an integral part of the overall development of our students as individuals and is considered a very important part of the life of a Clarin College student. Every student is encouraged to participate in the many sporting activities on offer. Much success has been enjoyed by the school and in particular by the students over many years.
The range of sports available to our students include hurling, football, camogie, soccer, athletics, basketball, volleyball, equestrian, archery, judo, golf and outdoor pursuits.
We have appointed academic monitors for each class group to support students and help to ensure each and every student achieves to the best of their ability academically. They track student performance in all house exams and encourage and support those students not performing to the best of their ability. Academic monitors meet with their class groups once per week to ensure they are on target to achieve their desired results.
We offer students and parents study seminars each year to support them in achieving the best possible results. Please find some of the information sheets below.
Our student council is made up of representatives from each year group. The Student Council is an integral part of the school community. Its roles are many. The Student Council aims to help change and improve student life at school. This means improving the atmosphere and environment of school, improving school facilities, dealing with bullying and representing the views and ideas of the wider student body. The Student Council is a forum for the students to improve day to day school life so students are encouraged to get involved and share their ideas. The Student Council acts as a vital channel of communication between students, management, staff and parents.
Music & Art
We hold a school concert and musicals each year. See the School Youtube channel for performances. also check the Music blogs on the school blogsite
We also have a strong music programme with lessons in Cello and guitar. We intend to expand the instruments each year.
Our rich and varied creative arts programme gives the students a vehicle for self expression which boosts their confidence and sense of achievement.
We are proud of our success in Clarin College in music, drama and debating and feel that it stems from the way in which each student is valued as an individual. Every student is important and has access to all that we offer.
